Health and safety
We are committed to providing a workplace which is as safe as is practicable.
Within the Faculty of Health it is our belief that no function of the Faculty is so important that the lives or health of our staff, students or others need be put at risk.
The health and safety of our students, colleagues and visitors to the Faculty will be protected by:
- an understanding, at all levels within the Faculty, of our responsibility for ourselves and others
- accountability for our actions and inactions
- provision of resources, personnel, equipment and knowledge to enable our operations to be carried out in a safe manner
- a robust system of Hazard Identification and Risk Control
- open communication through all levels of the Faculty regarding matters that may impact on persons' Health and Safety
- investigation of all incidents to determine the root causes and enable implementation of controls to prevent further incidents
- compliance with all Regulatory requirements pertaining to our operations to the best of our knowledge and understanding
The Faculty of Health Executive supports and promotes engagement in a risk based process of safety management which permeates our teaching, our research and our work ethos.
