What happens if I don't pay my fees?
You must pay your fees, even if you don't receive a tax invoice.

I didn't submit a Request for Commonwealth assistance form (eCAF) before the census date
Commonwealth supported students
If you don't submit your Request for Commonwealth assistance form by the census date, we will cancel your enrolment.
You won't be able to continue studying in the current semester as a Commonwealth supported student.

Tuition fee paying students
If you're eligible for a FEE-HELP loan, but don't submit a request for Commonwealth assistance, you must pay your full fees directly to QUT.
I'm a Commonwealth supported student and I didn't pay my course fees by the census date
Australian permanent residents and New Zealand citizens
If you don't pay your student contribution by the census date, we will cancel your enrolment.

Australian citizens and permanent humanitarian visa holders
If you don't pay your student contribution by the census date, and you haven't provided your tax file number, we will cancel your enrolment.

I pay tuition fees and didn't pay my course fees by the payment due date
If you don't pay your fees by the due date, you'll have to pay a late fee of $50.
You must pay the late fee and any outstanding fees by the census date.

If you choose to defer your fees using FEE-HELP after the payment due date, you still have to pay the late fee. You can't use FEE-HELP to pay your late fees.
I pay tuition fees and didn't pay my course fees and late fees by the census date
If you don't pay all your fees by the census date, we'll apply a sanction to your student account.
This means you won't be able to:
- access any QUT services, including the library
- receive your results
- enrol in any future semesters or teaching periods.

Australian and New Zealand students
If you're an Australian citizen or permanent visa holder, or a New Zealand citizen, we'll cancel your enrolment for the current semester or teaching period. If you want to re-enrol, you must pay your tuition fees, late fee, and a $100 reinstatement fee by the reinstatement deadline we give you.
If you still don't pay, we will cancel your enrolment in your course, and you'll have to reapply for your course if you want to return to study.
International students
We'll cancel your enrolment for the current semester or teaching period. If you want to re-enrol, you must pay your tuition fees, late fee, and a $100 reinstatement fee by the reinstatement deadline we give you.
If you still don't pay, we will cancel your enrolment in your course, and you'll be required to reapply for your course if you want to return to study.
We will also notify the Department of Citizenship and Immigration. Your visa may be cancelled.
