Academic writing at uni
If you want to find out about how writing at university is different from any other writing you have ever done, then this workshop is for you! You will be introduced to ways of working, academic expectations, and assessment genres at university. We journey through how you start, the middle and finishing successfully on your writing journey. This workshop is targeted at anyone who feels scared, wobbly, and unsure or just needs a refresh on writing skills.
QUT Blackboard is the University’s online learning environment which offers a range of functionalities including content management, communication and assessment tools. It displays the units you are studying and provides access to all online components of your units including learning materials, online tests and recommended readings. Referencing made simple
Referencing is an important skill that you must use at uni. This session introduces you to the principles and styles of referencing and citing using QUT cite|write. It also explains how you can paraphrase the work of others, avoid plagiarism, and make sure that your work has academic integrity. Sessions are available before, during and after O-Week.

It's easy to find information but getting the best scholarly information quickly is a skill. After this session, you will use databases more efficiently to find relevant information and current journal articles for your assignments. Sessions are available before, during and after O-Week.
